Chapter 5 / Part 3: A Halloween Special
No, this isn’t a horror movie or anything like that (I am SO scared of scary stories, don’t even get me started on that), but it’s about a cool Halloween party. Enjoy!
Today was a day to remember for the Adams… After school…
Rick came home from his business trip. But guess what was waiting for him at home?
“Dad! Surprise!!”
Rick’s jaw dropped. He certainly wasn’t expecting this! Charlie, James and Sophie, all in Halloween costumes, were standing in front of their house.
Charlie: Dad, I arranged a party for Halloween! I invited a few friends of everyone here… It’s at a park down there, I heard they decorated it for Halloween and that it looked really cool! It’s okay, right?
Rick: Wow! Yeah, that sounds great!
Charlie: Dad, you’re awesome!
Rick: right. So, what’s your costume again? Did you have to wear a dress so sho–
Charlie: What are you talking about? It’s not short at all! I’m supposed to be a vampire, Dad! I can’t go in jeans and sneakers!
Rick: Okay, okay, I get it! I think we should get going!
“It’s all set, guys! Don’t remember, the party starts in one hour!”
Charlie finished making the final arrangements for the party. This one was determined to be epic. The venue was awesome. Charlie had invited a few friends, including Sydney. It should perfectly work out. And if it did, Sydney would completely forgive her!
The venue was sweet alright! The guests weren’t here yet, so Charlie just danced alone to get into the partying mood.
Soon enough, the guests started arriving. Dennis, Emmet, Sydney… She had also invited some of Rick’s friends so that it wouldn’t be a teen-only party.
Sydney: Hey Charlie! This party’s pretty awesome! And this is some solid beat you got on the stereo!
Charlie: I know right! I just love this song!
They both started dancing along.
Sydney: Oh, um, I didn’t know Emmet was here?
Charlie: Oh, yeah… are you okay with that?
Sydney: Yeah. Actually we never got to properly go out, maybe I should give this another try?
Charlie: That’s a good idea! You go girl!
Sydney walked towards Emmet.
Sydney: Uh, hey, Emmet…
Emmet: Hi…
They stood there awkwardly when…
…a new song came on. And soon enough they were both dancing along.
“YES!!!! She is completely going to forgive me now!!” thought Charlie.
The party was going better and better!
And the ice cream truck was like the cherry at the top! Sophie, James and another kids rushed out to get a cold treat.
While Sydney and Emmet were flirting, Charlie finally had some time to go talk to Dennis.
Dennis: Oh, well hello there, what’s your costume? A sexy vampire?
Charlie: Haha, stop it…
And here they go again… Oh Gosh. :roll: being all kissy-kissy…
While Charlie’s dad had to listen to his boring boss
More and more dancing…
Wow Charlie really looks like a vampire!! That gives me an idea for the future chapters
It was really late. Most of the guests had gone home, but Sydney stayed around to talk to Charlie.
Sydney: Wow that was a cool party! And I got to dance with Emmet! I think he’s going to ask me out at prom!
Charlie: Wow that’s great! I’m going with Dennis!
Sydney: I can’t believe prom’s tomorrow!
Meanwhile, James decided to give those spring rides a try.
“WHEEEEEEEE!!!”
Sydney decided to stick arounf even after the party ended. They all listened to Charlie’s ghost story.
Charlie: Hey Sydney, it’s really late so you can just sleep over if you want.
Sydney: Yeah, thanks I think it’s a good idea!
Once everyone was home, Charlie and Sydney had a good old pillowfight
But it was really late (or rather, early) so everyone just went to sleep.
Goodnight, the Adams! That was a Halloween to remember!
Arghhh I am sooo tired, sorry if it’s kind of incomplete, it’s 12:43 here and I… have… to… sleep…
Anyway… Have a good day! Or night! Where ever you are
And just to let you know… I had needle experiences at the hospital today… 52 to be exact. On the back. Damn allergy tests!!! >__<
So until Chapter 6!! Bye ^_^
Chapter 5 / Part 2
Tuesday morning.
Sophie woke up early and was about to go upstairs looking for her dad when she remembered he was gone on a business trip, so she ate pancakes for her breakfast alone.
Everyone started to get ready.
Charlie took a long relaxing bath. She was going to go on a field trip today. She was actually pretty excited since she wouldn’t have to go to math class (she hated math) and she would be in Dennis’ group. They could sit together in the bus! The thought made her smile.
Charlie ran uphill to catch the school bus. Sophie and James were already in the bus, waiting for her. She waved at the driver. She knew him pretty well now, he had taken her and her siblings to school ever since they had moved here, to Hidden Springs.
Unfortunately, the field trip was only during the afternoon, and although she would be missing math class, she had to stand 2 hours of physics (she also hated physics). She fell actually fell asleep in the middle of the lesson… What a boring class, she thought. But soon enough I’ll be with Dennis!
Yes! Finally out that stupid class! She hadn’t noticed Sydney was in her group.
Sure enough, she got to sit with her boyfriend, and they held hand and chatted for the whole ride. Sydney glared at them the whole time…
At last, they arrived at the Science Facility. Charlie’s group consisted of: Sydney, Dennis, Charlie of course, and a weird girl wearing a wedding veil O_o
Turned out the field trip wasn’t as fun as Charlie had expected it to be. They didn’t let them touch anything… and all they had talked about was physics! How boring! Thankfully she had been with Dennis so they had just chatted instead of listening to their teacher’s explanations.
After the field trip, Charlie didn’t take the school bus home. Dennis had said that he had forgotten something at school and ran off to get it, so she called him to see if they could go out… Thank goodness I’m not grounded anymore, she thought.
Yes! Dennis was free! Charlie hopped into a taxi…
…to go to the library, where they were supposed to meet.
“Hey babe!”
Charlie must have jumped 1 meter off the ground.
Charlie: Dennis! You scared the crap out of me! Are you going to do that every time we go on a date?
Dennis: Sorry, I didn’t mean to scare you…
And then they started, you know, doing dating stuff.
Dennis: Every time I see you, I fall in love with you all over again…
Charlie: Aw, you’re so sweet! You’re so cheesy it’s actually cute!
And eventually they started kissing. Because that’s what all the teenagers in love do…
Meanwhile, Sophie and James were already home.
And both started doing their homework.
Charlie and Dennis went out for dinner…
…in a nice restaurant that had just opened in town.
They both got something to eat outsi– Whoa. Wait a second.
Dennis, is that a bowl of PET FOOD you’re holding? Yep. I checked. That is definitely fish food. Oh well, at least it’s “excellent quality”
And so Dennis ate his delicious fish food while Charlie sat across him, not eating anything. Her plate had disappeared into thin air 0_0
Charlie: I really like singing.
Dennis: I really like fish food.
Um, this is an awkward conversation…
Dennis: Let’s watch the stars… they remind me of your eyes.
Charlie: Okay, Dennis. Tell me the truth. Do you have a cheesy-line-generator app on your phone?
He smiled, embarrassed.
Dennis: Uhmm… No, of course not!
Charlie: Haha, it’s okay. You’re so sweet!
As they watched the night sky, Charlie realized this was just like their first date… Oh, how she loved Dennis!
Charlie kissed Dennis one more town before going back home. She didn’t want to leave her siblings alone too late…
But they were doing just fine. They were playing in the treehouse.
And by the time Charlie got home…
…they had both fallen asleep in the treehouse.
And so Charlie ate her dinner alone.
I’m so lucky to have James and Sophie, the sweetest siblings ever… And Dad, even though we fight sometimes. Mom, I really wish you were here…
She went upstairs to sleep. She had had a great but tiring day!
~end of part 2. It was pretty short but in about 1 or 2 hours my Halloween Special will be up!
Happy Halloween until I can wish it properly to you in Chapter 5 / Part 3: a Halloween Special is up!
Chapter 5 / Part 1
Time for Chapter 5!!
The weekend was over. It was Monday morning. Everyone got up and started preparing for their day…
Rick left for work first. He thought it was harsh that his boss didn’t let him take at least a short personal leave… But the bills weren’t going to pay themselves. Rick didn’t have much choice.
The kids were the next to leave for school. The teachers and students had heard Jill’s tragic story…
…and so everyone who knew Charlie, James or Sophie presented them their condolences. Even Sydney and Sarah — who knew? — told Charlie they were sorry. What had happened was that Dennis had gotten Emmet to ask Sydney out, but they hadn’t really worked out, and so Sydney and Charlie were back to being awkward around each other.
Meanwhile at work, Rick got called in his boss’ office.
His boss told him that he had to go on a business trip to Bridgeport today, right after work.
Rick wasn’t too happy about that. He really didn’t want to leave his kids alone, especially not right after Jill passed away. And last time he had left Charlie home alone to take care of her siblings, it had not really gone too well…
But he didn’t really have a choice. His boss had promised him a raise if this trip went well. And he really needed the extra cash, especially since…
He had just bought a car for the family!
Rick quickly came home after work. He had a few hours before a car would come pick him up and drive him to the airport…
He tried to relax as he watched the news.
The new mayor of Hidden Springs who was elected last week has already made some changes. He wants the town to be more “green” and applied that the Town Center.
An picture came across the screen:
That’s nicer than the square of concrete there was before… I should take the kids there when I come back from that god-dammed business trip, thought Rick.
Rick glanced at his watch. It was already time to go… The kids were still at school, so he left a note explaining his absence. He walked out of the house…
And rushed toward the hill. As usual, the damn carpool had stopped on the hill instead of in front of the house -_-
When Charlie finally arrived homes, she noticed a note on the dining table:
I have to leave for a business trip.
Sorry, I know the timing couldn’t be any worse, but I had to.
I’ll be back in 2 days.
I know you can care for yourselves, but just in case you can call the neighbors, I talked to them and they’ll help you if there’s an emergency.
And don’t forget to do your homework everyday!
Lots of love, Dad.
PS: Charlie, you’re not grounded anymore, but just be careful and take good care of Sophie and James!
Charlie made a mental note to call her dad tomorrow. She couldn’t right now, he would be in the plane.
She put the note away and started reading. She wasn’t grounded anymore! She could go out and see Dennis again!
James and Sophie came out of school in the same time, Sophie had a ballet class and James had to clean the bug cage, or something like that 0_0
Sophie saw how sad her brother was and instantly started cheering him up.
She did everything she could to entertain him. They stayed until late, because Sophie refused to let him go before he smiled.
She even showed him the new ballet moves she’d just learned. It made him smile as he realized that his sister would try anything to make him smile again.
James: Thank you so much, sis, you really cheered me up.
Sophie: Well it sure wasn’t easy!! But you know I’d do anything for my little brother!
James: I really needed it… I’m having a hard time, you know…
Sophie: Yeah, I know, me too. But remember Mom will always watch over us! She doesn’t want us to be sad forever.
James: You’re right…
Sophie: Let’s go home now, okay? Before Charlie gets worried.
James: Okay.
Charlie was doing her homework (and she didn’t look too happy about it, either) when her younger siblings arrived home.
Sophie: Hey, sis! We’re home!
Charlie: Hey, guys…
Sophie: Where’s Dad?
Charlie: He has a business trip, he’ll be back in 2 days… He left a note, it’s on the table.
James read the note and went to do his homework in his room.
Charlie prepared salad and ate her dinner.
Sophie did her homework too, following her dad’s advice.
Charlie went to sleep early…
…and was soon joined by her sister.
James grabbed a plate of salad…
…before going to bed too.
Well that’s it I guess, kinda short… UGH I wanted to do more than that but my vacation will be busier than expected. And tomorrow I have to go to the hospital at like 7 in the morning :’( to get some tests done, and I’ll probably be in a terrible mood. A mood so terrible if they do a blood sample again I’ll probably bite the nurse. Not even joking. I’ve had enough of hospitals!!
Yeah I have asthma
and it’s really bad. Tomorrow they’re gonna see how much they can push me… well actually they’re just gonna make me run until I can’t anymore, and I’ll probably barf everywhere. Not really looking forward to that >:(
Wish me luck! And hopefully I won’t have to go anywhere near needles! Did I mention how much I hated needles? arghhhhh I don’t wanna go.
Anyway, until part 2 (as soon as I can find some time)!! Have a good day!
Chapter 4 / Part 3
Guess what? I have a week long vacation starting from today! So I’ll have more time to play the Sims and do this blog
I had to do a third part for this chapter to follow the story line correctly, so… here it is!! It’s kinda quick (and still sad. The less depressing thing I promised will be right after this), I’ll be uploading a new chapter soon ^_^
Enjoy
Sophie woke up in a start. She got up right away and started running upstairs.
“Mom!”
“Mom!!”
“Mom??”
“Mom, I had a horrible nightmare, I dreamed that you were–”
She never finished her sentence. Because as she ran into what used to be her parent’s room, all she saw was her father standing next to an empty bed, in tears.
Sophie: No. No, it’s not possible. It can’t– It was a dream!! Is this still a nightmare??
Rick: Sophie, Jill– your mother, she… she’s gone. Don’t you remember… we were at the swimming pool and she…
Sophie: No. That’s not possible. It’s not. We had the same nightmare and she went out early this morning, maybe she had to go grocery shopping, or maybe she went to the library, or–
Her mumble turned into a whisper.
Sophie: No… Mom, you can’t…
She burst into tears.
She looked away.
She stood next to her dad for the next twenty minutes, but it seemed like an hour… and neither of them spoke a word. Both of them were trying to dry their eyes. Rick was breathing heavily. Sophie couldn’t meet his eye.
Charlie was lying in her bed. She hadn’t forgotten what had happened yesterday…
She was at home, playing her favorite video game, the latest Need for Speed, she could exactly remember her score… she was just one second away from beating her highscore, when she heard her phone…
*Beep Beep*…
She gritted her teeth. Her phone was lying on the table right in front of her and the name “Dad” appeared on the screen.
Dammit, she thought. If I don’t answer, he’s going to be so mad…
She tossed the controller on the sofa and picked up her phone.
“Dad?”
“Charlie…”
“Dad? Is something wrong?”
His voice seemed empty. He sounded as if he’d been crying…
“Dad?”
Still no answer.
“Dad??”
She started to get worried.
“What’s going on? What happened?”
“I– I’m sorry Charlie… It’s just, I can’t… I can’t–”
His voice cracked. He sobbed into the phone. He didn’t try to hide it anymore.
“Dad, what happened?? Did something happen to Sophie? To James?? Where’s Mom?”
“She’s… she was swimming and she…”
“What?? What happened to Mom?? Where is she? Is she in the hospital?”
“No… They couldn’t… she was already…”
He sighed once more.
“She had already passed away…”
Charlie dropped her phone.
“Hello…? Charlie? Are you there?”
She left it on the ground. She couldn’t breathe. She couldn’t believe what had happened…
And she still couldn’t. How would she carry on without her mom? She was the one who had kept this family together all these years, and to think that she was gone… It didn’t seem possible. She started crying again…
James was also thinking about what had happened yesterday. The thought of it made him shiver.
He was the only one who had really witnessed Jill’s tragic death. He was coming back from the shower, he was going to tell his mother that his sister and father had gone to take a shower as well, but when he climbed up the stairs, all he had seen was splashing at the top of the pool…
As he came closer, he realized it was his mother, gasping for air, and he tried to run and dive to save her, but he already knew that it was too late.
The was nothing he could have done to save her.
He just stood there, screaming, tears coming out of his eyes…
And although he knew that he wasn’t to blame, even now, he felt a growing sensation of guilt…
What if it was his fault she was never coming back?
He climbed down from his bed an wiped away his tears.
As everyone gathered in the kitchen/dining room, Charlie started making waffles but stopped in the middle and started crying. It will take some time for everyone to be happy again…
Charlie was about to finish baking the waffles when the maid randomly trashed them :O
Guess it was pancakes for today, then.
Charlie: But Mom was the one who used to make us pancakes…
Sophie and James ate up their late breakfast in silence. It was almost 12…
Rick tried to comfort his children as he could, but… well, it wasn’t going to be easy…
…as he had to comfort himself as well.
That’s when he made a decision. He had to do anything he could to cheer up his family, or what was left of it. Jill wouldn’t have wanted to see her family live in tears forever.
He would make the best of his children’s lives. He would make sure they would grow up well and happily.
But there was just one more thing this family had to do…
That’s right. They had to give Jill Adams a proper goodbye.
They dressed in black formal…
… And headed to the graveyard to give her the burial she deserved.
Rick: Jill… this is where I leave you to rest peacefully forever…
Everyone had tears rolling down their cheeks…
There… Jill’s grave.
>_< I’m sad too…
The children said goodbye, one at a time…
Charlie: Bye Mom… You don’t know how much you’ll be missed… I’ll come visit from time to time, I promise…
Sophie: Mom…
She started sobbing.
Sophie: Mom, I miss you so much and I always will. I love you…
James: Mom, you’ll always mean so much to me, no matter how far away you’ll be…
It was finally Rick’s turn…
Rick: Jill, I’ve always loved you , I love you know and I always will. Not even death can part us…
They all painfully looked at Jill’s grave…
But saying goodbye helped them. They fell as if a huge weight had been lifted off their hearts, knowing that she was in a better place.
Once they were all back home, Rick went upstairs right away. He went to sleep thinking about how he could take his children’s minds (and his own) off things.
Sophie and James wanted to ask Charlie something.
James: Sis… Is mom in Heaven?
Charlie: Of course she is, she’ll always be watching over us…
She glanced at the ceiling.
Charlie: When I was little and Granny passed away, Mom told me that she was in a better place. Do you remember, Sophie? You were really little when that happened. They’re together now… They must be happy, I’m sure they missed each other very much…
Sophie: So, we didn’t really say goodbye, did we?
Charlie: Not really. What about we go to bed now, okay?
Sophie and James nodded and went to sleep.
Thereeeee we go!! Now that this tragedy is over, Rick will do everything he can to help his kids have a great childhood.
This chapter was kinda (okay, A LOT) emotional because:
1- It kinda reminded me of when I lost my grandfather last year. I didn’t know him very well because he had Alzheimer’s. It’s a terrible illness and it always broke my heart to visit him at the hospital. He didn’t recognize my grandma, or any of his children (my dad and my uncles/aunt). So that was a really painful experience for me.
2- This summer I went to France as usual (I’m half-french, so all my mom’s side of the family lives in France). We went to my grandparent’s birth villages and we visited the graveyard there… Another painful experience. My grandparents recognized the names of the kids they used to be with at school on graves and it was really hard for me to see them sad like that. Also, there were so many older graves of people who died during WWI and WWII. That completely depressed me. War is a horrible thing. I hope one day, kids will ask their parents: What does war mean? And that the parents can answer: It’s a very horrible thing but it ended in the 21st century, thank goodness. Although I doubt it… I still hope there won’t be any war one day.
Yeah. That was, again, sad. But talking about this helps me go through them, you know what I mean?
Anyway. In chapter 5, the kids will start living their life fully with the help of Rick. So that can’t be sad!
Have a good day! Wait, no. Have an AWESOME day. Because I said so.
Chapter 4 / Part 2
Part 2 is (finally) out!
Hey guys, it’s been some time.
I’ve been really busy last week! Edit: this was mean to come out on Sunday night, when I realized that I had a history test (again! FML) on the next day when I was halfway through this part. Sorry :S
But here we are with the 2nd part of chapter 4.
Oh, and I just got Pets!! It’s so awesome, I was really looking forward to it!
Today went by like a blur for the Adams. (Edit: skip to the next day if you want because not much happens this day. Kinda boring
)
Charlie and Sophie did their homework quickly before going to school.
Rick was the first to leave for work.
He was soon followed out by the kids. It’s James’ first day at school!
While the kids were at school, I heard a music… It’s the ice-cream truck!! It’s the first time I see it since i just got pets
So Jill got out to buy some ice-cream
Mmmhhh… Looks like Jill has a sweet tooth!
She played chess alone, waiting for her husband and kids to come home.
Soon enough, everyone was back home. Rick had enough of the mess in the house and called a maid. Yep he gained that much money already!!
Some time later, their new maid arrived
Finally someone to clean up this mess!
Charlie just read a book for the whole evening while Rick napped… he’s a couch potato after all.
Meanwhile, James and Sophie played catch in the backyard. They seem to get along very well
Being tired from all the running around, the two kids went to sleep early (and without eating!).
While Jill was preparing dinner, Charlie and Rick awkwardly sat at the table, not knowing what to say.
Rick: “So, Charlie… How was your day?”
Charlie: “It was okay…”
Rick: “…”
Awkward…
They quickly ate up their goopy carbonara without a word.
And so everyone went to sleep…
Little did they know what tragic thing would change this family forever…
*dramatic drumroll* Cliffhanger!!!
Kidding. Since I’m not that much of a jerk, the following day is in this part too
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
It was Saturday morning. The day everything was about to change…
Sophie got up early (as usual) and went to…
…have a submarine adventure. In the bathtub of course.
A bit later, when everyone was up, Jill called them to explain her great idea for today.
And idea that would lead to a painful loss…
Jill: So instead of spending the day here doing nothing and playing stupid video games… I think it would be a great idea to go swimming!
James: Like, at the local community pool?
Jill: Yes, the one next to the spa…
Sophie: Yay!! I love swimming!
Rick: You’re right, honey, that sounds pretty good. I think we all need more family time.
Charlie: Wait. I thought I was grounded?
Rick: …
Jill: Well you still are. I think you should stay here and study for your finals, what do you think honey?
Rick: That’s reasonable. Yes, I think that’s a good idea.
Charlie: Whatever…
Rick: But don’t goof around, alright? And you better get your homework done.
Charlie: Yeah, yeah…
After Jill, Rick, Sophie and James got ready, they all called a taxi and headed to the swimming pool.
In the meantime, at home…
Charlie: Dammit!! I almost beat my highscore!!
Looks like studying will be for later
Once they arrived at the pool, Rick got into the water first…
Followed by Sophie…
Then by Jill and James… Soon enough, they were all playing around in the pool, splashing each other.
Sophie excused herself to the bathroom…
James: I need to go, too…
*10 mins later*
Rick: Why aren’t the kids coming back?
Jill: They said they were going to the bathroom…
Rick: I’ll go get them before they start running around on this wet floor…
Jill: Okay, I’ll wait for you here.
Rick: Sophie? James?
…
Rick: I’ll go find them.
Jill swam around while Rick was away.
Rick: Sophie!! Didn’t you hear me calling me?? I was getting worried.
Sophie: Oh sorry Dad!! I didn’t hear anything. I’m waiting for James. He said he was tired and that he was done swimming… he’s taking a shower right now.
Rick: Alright. Well actually, it’s getting pretty late, I think it’s time everyone took a shower.
Sophie: Okay.
The both went to change and take a shower…
Jill was getting tired…
Jill gasped for air, but none came. She pushed with her legs…
…and managed to resurface for a second. Where was Rick? Where were the kids? Why could no one see her?
She started to sink again. Jill couldn’t think anymore. She frantically waved her arms, hoping she would make enough noise to draw someone’s attention. Maybe that lady over there would hear her… Maybe Rick would come and get her out in time…
Jill screamed for help, but of course no sound came out. Water filled her lungs. It would be the last mistake she would ever do…
She raised her arm, like waving goodbye to her family one last time…
The last bubbles of air reached the surface…
And Jill Adams was no more…
James was the first to get out of the shower.
James: Mom? Mom??
As soon as he saw it, he burst into tears. He was too shocked to do anything else.
When he saw his mother, curled up, nothing more than a ghost…
Rick and Sophie followed up the stairs.
Jill pleaded while her family was standing there, crying, not being able to do anything…
But Death isn’t one to negotiate with.
She looked around a last time, and vanished to her grave.
Rick couldn’t bear to see his wife’s grave…
Holy crap, that was depressing. I’m afraid I have to leave it to here today because my (annoying) mother thinks I need to go to sleep >:(
BLAME THE CLIFFHANGER ON HER NOT ME!!
I’ll be back soon… With something more cheerful than this, I promise
Chapter 4 / Part 1
Chapter 4!! I didn’t do a third part of chapter 3 because something major happens here ^_^
And I’m not gonna tell you what that is… you’ll have to read it, obviously :3
It was Thursday morning. The Adams were still asleep, and the kitchen sink had broken once again overnight…
Charlie woke up first. She got down from the higher bunk…
And started getting ready for school.
Jill woke up next.
She immediately started to clean the house.
Sophie got up, too. The two sister had breakfast together…
Before rushing off to school.
But for some reason, Charlie arrived a few minutes late for school.
Meanwhile, at home, Jill wasn’t happy with her dirty kitchen. The whole house was a mess!!
That’s when i noticed…
Rick’s job had earned him more than I imagined!! So I decided…
… to get them a new kitchen!! (FYI, I forgot to put a sink in the picture, which I added later on.)
And so Jill enjoyed a nice meal in her new kitchen.
Rick (who had finally woken up) was going to shower when he realized that the shower, the toilet and the sink had broken, so he called a repairman.
But when Charlie came home some time later…
Rick: Charlie! I got a call from your school today! You arrived late, you didn’t do your homework, and you fell asleep in class! TWICE!
Charlie: What?? Oh, man… Dad, I’m really sorry, I guess I was really tired…
Rick: And why didn’t you do your homework?? Do you even try?
Charlie: Dad, please listen!!
Rick: What?!
Charlie: It’s not my fault! First of all, I did do half of it, because I couldn’t understand the other half!
Rick: Oh, that’s it then? And I wonder why you couldn’t understand? Maybe it would help if you listened in class instead of sleeping?!
Charlie: Ugh Dad please!
Rick: Oh no. There’s no way you’re pleading yourself out of this.
Charlie: Then what are you going to do? I already ruined my social life, I’m grounded, and…
Rick: And what? Charlie, this is serious. Your studies are important! You can’t take this lightly!
Charlie: I’m no–
Rick: That’s why I’m sending you to boarding school if you don’t get better grades.
Charlie: Boarding school?! Do you want to get rid of me that much?
Rick: Charlie, how could you think something like that? Of course I love you. That’s why I have to make sure you don’t ruin your studies!
Charlie: Fine.
Charlie’s head was spinning. Boarding school? How could they do that to me? I have to find a way to get better grades…
She headed inside…
Rick: Charlie, you–
Charlie: Are you going to yell at me some more?
Rick: Just listen for once!! You better do some chores around the house if you don’t want to be grounded until you move out! Which is still a long way from now just to let you know!!
Charlie: Okay, okay, I get it…
Unlike Charlie, Sophie got along very well with her dad, which tended to annoy Charlie…
…who was doing chores…
…And more chores.
But wait… James looks very excited for something…
Actually so excited it’s scary o_o
…
That’s right! It’s already James’ birthday!! I can’t believe James is already growing up…
OUCH! Growing up’s gotta hurt, right?
And James has become a child!!
…a child in underwear. 0_0 Anyway…
He looks nice, even though we can only see half his face because of this hairstyle -_-
James acquired the Daredevil trait.
So now that James grew up, bye-bye baby room, hello kid room
So each family member got James a gift for his birthday, which he got super excited about
YES! I caught him in mid-air
James: Thanks, Mom!! Everyone!
So these are the gifts he got: the skeleton teddy bear from Charlie, the football from Sophie, the weird gnome box thing from his dad, and…
…The Warlock of Palladia from his mom.
I also put his “special friend”, Coco, in his room.
And so everyone went to bed
And drifted off to sleep…
To be continued in part 2
Hope you liked it!!
Until next time,
Chapter 3 / Part 2
Hey guys, it’s been a few days :3
So here I am, with the second part of chapter 3! Enjoy
*Beep Beep*…
*Beep Beep*…
Charlie answered her phone. Who would be calling her right after school?
“Hello?”
“Charlie? Listen. This is Sydney…”
“Sydney?? I thought you didn’t want to talk to me anymore…”
“Yeah. Well just listen anyway. I was talking to Sarah…”
Sarah was one of the popular girls who was always hanging with Sydney after the “egging incident”.
“Yeah… And?”
“Well she said it would be kind of a waste to see you sit at the loser table for the rest of you life, so…”
“Annie isn’t a loser!”
Annie was the girl she’d been forced to sit with at lunch when all the other seats were taken. She hardly ever talked and always carried a book around, but Charlie almost considered her as a friend now.
“Yeah, sure she isn’t… Well anyway, I thought about it and Sarah is right. I think you could be like us. The only thing that keeps you from being a complete loser right now is the fact that you have a cute boyfriend. But we can’t just let anyone join our club, right? So here’s the deal. If you throw a cool party tonight, we might reconsider. Just a few people. No parents, no rules… Figure out a way to work it out, that’s not our problem. So, what do you say?”
“I…”
Charlie knew it was a horrible idea. Her parents had given her a second chance by trusting her while they were away. She wouldn’t have a third…
But they were away, so that would make it much easier for Charlie… This was the ultimate opportunity! She could be with the cool kids again! She knew a few guys, Dennis’ friends, and knew Sydney would bring a few girls. After all, she did say just a few people…
“I’ll do it.”
“Now you’re making sense! I’ll make sure the girls and I will arrive at five, ‘kay?”
“Okay… See you then!”
Charlie felt an odd mixture of relief and panic. If everything went smoothly, her parents would never know, and she’d be a cool kid at school again. But if anything could go wrong, it she’d be dead at home and at school. Hopefully, it was realy worth the risk…
“Hey Dennis!”
“Hey babe, what’s up?”
“Are you free today?”
“Yeah sure, why?”
“Party at my place…”
“Wow, Charlie Adams, the new girl, having a party? I’m impressed!”
“Yeah, I’ll explain later… But just make sure you come, ‘kay? And can you bring a few friends? Like your brother, and Emmet… and a few others?”
“Oh yeah that’s great! I’ll see if they can make it.”
Jackpot. Charlie knew that Sydney had always liked Emmet. The party would be a complete success if she could get Emmet to talk to Sydney…
“Okay, see you at 5 then!”
Okay, Charlie, you can do this…
Charlie: Oh, man, James… I totally forgot about you… Please don’t cry in the middle of my party…
James: Potty?
Charlie: *Sigh* no, James… I’m not holding a potty, I’m holding a party.
James: Potty!
Charlie: If it pleases you…
Sophie was doing her homework when Charlie told her to stay away from the party…
Charlie: Sophie, I… invited a few friends over, so make yourself invisible, ‘kay?
Sophie: But Mom said…
Charlie: Okay, I don’t give a damn about what she said!! Just be nice, please?
Sophie: *grunt*
Charlie: I’m going shopping tomorrow, you can come if you want…
Sophie: Yay!! You’re the best sister ever!
Charlie: Yeah whatever.
What’s wrong with Charlie these days? She’s always tired when she comes back from school… too much drama to handle? In any case, it’s not because of over-studying
I forgot to put a stereo when I built their house!! *poof* buy mode *poof* problem solved.
A few guests arrived… Yes, that IS the crazy babysitter. But Charlie knew her as… Annie! That’s right, the shy bookworm also likes to wear a bikini and leave small children on the edge of staircases!! 0_0
The party had split up in two: Sydney, Charlie, Dennis and Emmet stayed at Charlie’s and the other guests did a dare game in town: the loser had to pull the ding-dong-ditch prank without getting caught. Then both groups were supposed to meet up at the park and have a barbecue/picnic together.
While a few guests and Charlie were sliding in the slip’n'slide…
*Ring Ring*
Sophie got up and answered the phone.
“Hey honey! How are you? And why isn’t Charlie answering her phone?”
“Dad?”
“Is something wrong?”
“No, everything’s um… fine… And Charlie’s phone is… out of battery.”
“Alright then… We’re almost home!”
“What? I thought you were coming home tomorrow?”
“Yeah, but we missed our kids!”
“Wait a sec… when are you arriving?”
“In about… 1 hour.”
“Okay… Bye!”
Sophie was very worried. She hated it when Charlie got in trouble.
“CHARLIIIIEEE!!!!!!!!!!!!!”
Charlie: “WHAT? I told you to stay away from my party!”
Sophie: “UGH, I was telling you that Mom and Dad are coming…”
Charlie: “I know that, they’re coming tomorrow!”
Sophie: “They just called… they’ll be here in an hour.”
15 minutes later, all the guests were out, complaining about the interruption. The party had been pretty cool until the phonecall.
45 minutes later, all evidence of the party had been erased… Charlie, helped by Sophie, had thrown away the leftover pizza, dried the water slide, and cleaned up any water puddles. The house was almost spotless.
And one hour later, Charlie changed herself and dried her hair. It was as if nothing had happened.
*Ding-dong*
Sophie: It’s probably Mom… I’ll get it! … Hey Mom!
Jill: Hello Sophie. Where’s your sister?
Charlie: Uh, hi, Mom…
Jill: CHARLIE!! I just got a call from the neighbors while I was in the taxi! They were complaining you had invited a bunch of people over and that they went around playing pranks in town!! I told you you couldn’t throw party!!
Charlie: It wasn’t a party! I just invited a couple of friends, and i didn’t know they…
Jill: Shut up Charlie!! I can’t trust you anymore! This was your second chance… You won’t have a third one!
Jill: You’re grounded until your grades go up. Did you see your report card? You have almost all D’s. That’s kind of obvious when you spend the time when you were supposed to study doing stupid pranks! You’re not a five year old anymore!! Your sister’s more mature than you.
Charlie: But Mom I can explain!! I didn’t even do any pr–
Jill: I don’t even want to hear it!
Rick: Don’t talk to your parents like that! Don’t you ever show respect to anyone?
Charlie: UGH!! You talk about respect but I can’t even say anything! No one ever listens!!
Jill: Don’t push it!! Go do your homework and if you ever talk to your parents like that again…
Charlie: Whatever!!
She ran to her room. Again. It was happening all over again…
Ugh!! I hate my parents!! Why don’t they ever listen! Now everyone thinks I’m a total loser and I’m grounded forever…
*Beep B*–
Charlie fished her phone out of her pocket before her parents could hear it ringing. Sydney’s contact appeared on the screen.
“Sydney?” she whispered into the phone.
“Charlie, it’s me. The party was a disaster…”
“Yeah I know that! I couldn’t know my parents were going to come home so soon! They weren’t supposed to come back until tomorrow!”
“…” Charlie could hear Sydney’s hesitation at the other end of the line. “Okay. What about this. I have to agree it’s not really fair, and everyone did have a good time… So what about this? If you can get Emmet to ask me out, you’re in. Simple enough?”
“…Okay. Deal. I think I’ll manage…”
“Perfect!” Sydney giggled into the phone.
“Well see you at school then. I’m grounded for life…”
“Oh, that’s too bad… Well, see you!”
Charlie decided to get the work done right away. She dialed her boyfriend’s number…
“Hey babe… I said I’d explain about the party…”
“Yeah. What was up with that?”
“Well, it started when Sydney called me…”
Half an hour later, Charlie had explained everything that had happened.
“…And now she wants me to get Emmet to ask her out.”
“…And you’re gonna use me to talk to him.”
“Yeah. Wait, no! That’s not what I meant! Dennis, I would never use you like that!”
“Okay, fine… Well he likes her so I think it won’t be too hard.”
“Oh my gosh, thank you!!”
“It’s alright. But, you’re doing everything for this Sydney girl… are you sure it’s really worth it? I bet your parents are really mad now.”
“Yeah. I’m grounded for life.”
“Ah man, that sucks! We were supposed to go out this weekend!”
“I know, I’m so sorry… And to answer your question… I didn’t really have a choice, I mean I couldn’t say no to Sydney…”
“Yeah I guess you’re right.”
“Well anyway I gotta go. Thank you so much!!”
“Alright, love you…”
“Love you too!”
She turned her phone off…
And lied down in her bed. She was soon joined by her sister…
Sophie: I bet it must be fun to be a teen. You get to do all these crazy stuff…
Charlie: Don’t think it’s all that fun, Soph’. Mom and Dad always yell at you…
Sophie: Yeah, except for that…
Charlie: Well I’m sorry I can’t take you shopping tomorrow… Since I’m grounded obviously.
Sophie: It’s okay sis. But we’ll go later, right?
Charlie: Sure, Soph’…
When I won’t be grounded anymore… Which is like, never… she thought.
They soon both drifted off to dream land…
James started randomly crying. Even though his needs were all full… :S
And Rick had to put him to sleep like every night. Did anyone else notice that Rick got kinda chubby?
And so everyone went to sleep…
Not realizing…
… That Emmet was still playing in their water slide!!!
Okay I have really no idea of how he got there. That kid’s a ninja. Charlie kicked everyone out, but he just… 0_0… wow.
That’s it for today (sorry…), I’m a total zombie right now. I don’t even know what I’m typing… -_-
BTW I might do a part 3 for this chapter. Not sure. I’ll probably (hopefully) do it tomorrow. But i got so much things going on right now…
IDK. But I’ll get it done. :3
Bye, good night!! (It’s 12 here…)
Chapter 3 / Part 1
Hello guys, sorry it’s been some time… I have a lot of school work these days, but here’s the third chapter
Today, the parents went away “on a free vacation” for two days while Charlie and Sophie were at school…
They’d left the house in a complete mess. And of course the kids had to clean up… Thanks a lot, mom and dad.
Ugh, it’s like every single appliance in this house is broken.
So Charlie started to repair it but…
Unfortunately, she got completely fried. Okay Charlie, you are staying away from any electronics. The last thing we need right now is for you to get fatally electrocuted…
And so after getting cleaned up…
She just called a repairman, who should be able to repair everything.
The two sisters were finally sleeping.
Unfortunately, James started crying in the middle of the night…
And Charlie had to take care of her brother.
Poor Charlie was completely exhausted. She still had to go to school, though.
While a crazy babysitter, who was supposed to watch James, was running around in the backyard in swimwear…
She left James on the edge of the stairs!!! How stupid is she?? Good thing kids can’t have accidents in the game. But poor James was getting very hungry, and that moron in the backyard who calls herself a babysitter didn’t do a damn thing about it >:(
James got lonely and started playing with his special doll, “Coco”
Charlie was about to collapse when she got home from school.
She fell asleep on the couch, not hearing her baby brother who needed to be fed.
What kind of parents would leave their baby alone with a teen and a child? Seriously.
When she finally woke up…
She took care of James.
And, after planning a night out with a few friends, she headed out…
Leaving Sophie, who was doing her homework.
So she finally arrived at the community pool, where they were all supposed to meet. And Dennis was the only one who could come. Groups never work out
So they did the usual… Talking…
etc…
Sophie got bored and tried to invite a friend over. Naturally, they didn’t even show up >:(
While Charlie and Dennis were eating at a fancy restaurant, guess who was there??
One of the people Charlie had invited to the night out. I thought he “couldn’t make it”? Psh. Yeah. ‘Cause doing homework alone in front of a restaurant is just sooo important he couldn’t come.
After a very romantic dinner,
Charlie invited Dennis over.
Charlie passed out… Oops, I’d forgotten how tired she was :S
So I decided to make them “camp” in the backyard
I got them a fire pit, and two sleeping bags.
They roasted marshmallows :3
And for some reason, Dennis was still in his tux 0_0
Apparently, Dennis doesn’t understand the concept of camping.
He just sat there while Charlie was sleeping, and did his homework 0_0
7am. Charlie just got up, and Dennis just went to sleep… fail.
BTW, I just noticed they had matching PJs! How awesome is that?!
Everyone got ready…
For another day of school.
…
Ugh, this is getting boring. I’ll add something big in the next part. Pinky promise
It’s really annoying that Charlie only has 2 friends after the “Sydney accident”. If she was more popular, I’d have her throw a teen party while the parents are away. But then again, who would take care of James?? >:( when will I have her throw a party?
Anyway, I’ll leave you with this… Hopefully a fully dramatic part two will come out soon… I’ll try to find time this weekend
Chapter 2 / Part 2
It was just another morning at the Adams’…
And then I realized no it wasn’t! It was Saturday! Three things were going to happen today: Charlie is going to go on her first date with Dennis, Sophie is going to meet her friend, and Jill got some opportunity to watch a chess tournament that was supposed to increase her logic skill.
Everyone was enjoying their breakfast… Oh gosh, James is so cute
Charlie got ready for her first date!!
And poor Jill had a mountain of laundry to do, lol…
Oh! Good news for Sophie!
Rick: “Well, Sophie, you’ve been a good girl and I’m sure you won’t be late for school again, so… I forgive you. Just don’t let it happen again, okay?”
Sophie: “Yeah! Thanks dad!”
Wow. I didn’t know how dirty the house was. Poor Jill has to do all the chores…
And after Charlie got ready…
She had to deal with her nosy sister!!
Sophie: “Hey sis, where are you going?”
Charlie: “I’m going out, with a… friend…”
Sophie: “Can I come??”
Charlie: “Oh, there is NO way you are coming along.”
Sophie: “So you’re going with a boy!!!”
Charlie: “That’s none of your business, Sophie! Let me go, and don’t even think about telling mom and dad!”
Sophie: “Ugh, fine. Gosh.”
Haha, nosy sisters
Poor Sophie, Jeanette canceled at the last moment. Now she’ll have to spend her Saturday alone…
Well, at least she’ll be spending it with her imaginary prince
Charlie and Dennis had agreed to meet in front of the local stadium, but Charlie didn’t spot her boyfriend yet…
Charlie: He should be here by now… I hope he didn’t forget…
Dennis: “Hey, sweetie!”
Charlie: “Dennis! I didn’t see you! You scared me!”
Dennis: “Haha, sorry…”
Dennis: “So… you wanna go see a game? The Llamas against the Eagles…”
Charlie: “I think we’re too late for that, Dennis… I heard the tickets were all sold out!”
Dennis: “Bummer… Why didn’t I think of ordering the tickets? Anyway, what about the theater?”
Charlie: “Sure, we could go see The Lost Planet, Sydney told me it was great, with, like, aliens and kung-fu scenes, and all that kinda stuff.”
Dennis: “That sounds great, let’s go!”
Dennis: “Well, actually, there’s one thing I wanted to do first…”
Charlie: “Aw…”
So the two lovers took a taxi to the local movie theater.
So while they were watching their movie…
Rick was stuck with the broken toilet. Well, he’s the Handy one after all, so he might as well help!
And Jill was off to the bookstore to watch the chess tournament.
Sophie got bored of playing alone, so she called Carlotta Shue, another girl she’d met at school.
They talked for a while, and then Carlotta had to go already. Ugh, do guests ever stay more than 1 hour?!
So anyway, the movie was over and the cutest thing happened! Dennis gave flowers to Charlie! The funny thing is that the exact same thing was happening to the couple behind them XD
Awww!!
The decided to go eat at a fast food restaurant.
While they were eating…
Jill came back from the bookstore.
And shared some family time with her husband and daughter
They watched TV while she was reading a book.
Meanwhile, the sun was setting, and suddenly Charlie felt like she was in a movie. Dennis was so sweet. He called her at the back of the restaurant and kissed her. It was all so perfect
Charlie asked him to watch the stars with her…
Dennis: “Charlie, you see that star over there? I see it everyday in your eyes…”
Dennis must be the cheesiest thing since cheesecake XD
The kissed one more time… Not even realizing there was a crazy evil woman stalking them XD
But then Dennis had to go. It was almost 11pm. He kissed her goodbye.
Dennis: “You and me, sitting in a tree… oh gosh did I say that out loud? I mean… what a fun date! Erm, don’t mind me…”
Then Charlie was back on Earth.
She ran… She had just remembered what her friend from her “old life” had old her, back in Riverview…
And when you get there, Charlie, do something outrageous… Prank someone and remember all the good times we had back here. Remember when you didn’t give a damn what anyone thought? Well do something crazy and remember who you are! You’re Charlie Adams and you’re not gonna become some kind of cheerleader b*tch…
Julia. She had been Charlie’s best friend in Riverview. But so much had happened since they’d moved, Charlie didn’t even send her an email or something…
Whatever. Mom and Dad don’t even know where I’ve been all day… I’m in trouble already! So might as well have some fun!
She arrived in front of a pastel blue house.
Perfect! I bet they’re all sleeping. Just like the old times… Then I’ll call Julia tomorrow since I’ll probably be grounded, and tell her I didn’t forget her!
She knew what she was going to do: egg throwing, a classic for the pranksters…
“What the hell are you doing????”
Charlie: “Sydney?!”
Sydney: “Charlie? Oh my gosh? Why are you doing this? What the hell is wrong with you??”
Charlie: “Sydney, I’m so sorry! I didn’t know you lived here!!”
Sydney: “Whatever Charlie! Go away!! You’re such a jerk!”
Charlie: “I…”
Sydney had just slammed the door. Charlie was devastated. Sydney had been the only one who saved her from being the “loser”. It was like her old school situation was happening all over again…
What have I done… Sydney was my closest friend…
She got home. She was in huge trouble. It was past midnight. But that didn’t really matter to her right now…
Rick: “CHARLIE! Do you know what time it is?? Where were you? Do you know how worried I was?”
Charlie: “Dad! I’m sorry… I can explain…”
Rick: “I don’t care, Charlie! I thought you changed! You’ve been so good this week, I thought you’d grown up! But obviously you haven’t! You’re still immature! I trusted you, Charlie. You just proved me how wrong I was.”
Charlie: “No, Dad! I’m really sorry! I didn’t want this to happen… Can’t you at least listen to what I have to say?”
Rick: “No, I can’t! I’ve had it! Every time I’ve forgiven you, you just went ahead and did the same mistakes. It’s already a miracle you weren’t brought home by the cops.”
Charlie: “Dad… Please listen to–”
Rick: “Just shut it Charlie! You’re not gonna talk yourself out of this one.”
Charlie: “Dad, please!”
Rick: “Just go to bed! We’ll talk about it tomorrow morning. You’re in huge trouble.”
Charlie: “Ugh! You never listen!”
She was really mad. She knew the prank had been a mistake, but she’d really needed someone to talk to. She couldn’t bear what her dad had just told her. Was she that immature? Her dad would never trust her again. She was probably grounded forever. Then she remembered what Sydney had called her. A jerk. She ran to her room before her sister could see she was choking on her tears.
She quietly cried herself to sleep. School was in two days… She could never show her face to Sydney again… She was going to be all alone. She had wanted to call Julia to tell her what crazy things she had done, but now she was the second-to-last person she wanted to talk to right now. The first one was Sydney.
Sophie was having nightmares. She had heard her dad yelling at her sister again, just like before they had moved. She’d thought it had been over…
In her nightmare, she saw Charlie crying as Rick yelled at her. They were in a dirty house with bare walls and no windows. Her mother was trying to calm James who kept screaming…
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Sophie: “No! Charlie!”
She gasped. It was just a dream. She got up and ate breakfast, a chill in her spine reminding her of how unpleasantly realistic the dream had seemed.
Charlie woke up a few minutes after subconsciously hearing her sister. She quietly ate breakfast, still ashamed of what had happened last night.
Rick: “Charlie. We have to talk.”
Charlie: “I know, Dad…”
Rick: “I don’t care what happened, or why you acted like that. You’re grounded, obviously.”
Charlie: “What a surprise.”
Rick: “And don’t talk to me like that! Why can’t you just be nice and study like your sister?”
Charlie: “UGH! Dad, stop comparing me to everyone!!”
Rick: “You can’t use your phone, either. Or the computer…”
Charlie: “Dad! Please!”
Rick: “That’s enough, Charlie. Now why don’t you help your mother around the house, you can start by cleaning the kitchen.”
Charlie: “Ugh. Fine. Whatever.”
And that’s how Charlie spent her day doing chores…
And more chores…
Until Jill decided to talk to her…
Jill: “Charlie, can you come over here? I want to talk to you.”
Charlie: “If it’s to yell at me some more, I–”
Jill: “No, I just want to ask you something.”
Charlie: “Okay, fine.”
Jill: “First, I wanted to know where you were yesterday…”
Charlie: “I was out with a friend.”
Jill: “The whole day?”
Charlie: “Yeah, we went to see a movie, then we went to the fast food restaurant.”
Jill: “Okay… But why did you come home so late?”
Charlie: “I… was coming home, and… I met this girl I know from school…”
Jill: “Sydney?”
Charlie: “Yeah. I met Sydney, but we argued… We argued pretty badly.”
Jill: “That’s why you came home so late?”
Charlie: “Yeah, that’s it. But I don’t think Sydney will ever talk to me again.”
Charlie: “But when I came home, Dad yelled at me and called me a baby… That made me really mad, because I did change.”
Jill: “It’s okay, Charlie. I believe you. Listen, I’ll talk to your father, maybe he’ll change his mind. Just make sure you always come home before 10pm. And tell me where you’re going if you’ll be gone for the whole day!”
Charlie: “Thank you so much, Mom!! I promise I won’t come home late!!”
Whew, Charlie, that was really close. Now she has to figure out how she’ll manage at school, tomorrow…
Sophie asked her mom if she could invite a friend over. She invited Carlotta…
And they played tag for awhile until she had to go (again!!!)
Meanwhile, it was already dark, and Jill took James out for a stroll.
Wow. Rick had spent his whole day in front of the TV. Way to be productive -_-.
Charlie had to lock herself in the bathroom to call Dennis and tell him what happened, since she still wasn’t supposed to use her phone.
Charlie and Sophie ate dinner together…
And soon enough Charlie was telling her sister everything. She had really needed a listener, and as she spilled the beans, she felt the weight on her shoulders becoming lighter and lighter.
I love how Charlie and Sophie are really close
Sophie used her Good Sense of Humor to make her sister laugh
After the two sisters had gone to bed, Jill talked to her husband about Charlie.
Jill: “Don’t you think you’re being a bit hard on her? I talked to her toady, and she really did change. She doesn’t really know what she’s doing, hon… She’s only 15…”
Rick: “I don’t know. I mean I want to believe her, but if she keeps doing the same mistakes over and over again…”
Jill: “She promised that wouldn’t happen. I think she deserves a second chance…”
Rick: “You’re probably right. You know her better than me… After all, you’re her mother.”
Jill: “Alright. I’m going to go sleep early…”
Rick: “Goodnight, honey.”
Thank goodness for Charlie! But how is she going to manage at school? She only knew Sydney and Dennis there… Dennis usually hung around with his friends and Sydney probably told all her friends what a jerk she was… Maybe it was time she built her own crowd?
I’ll post Chapter 3 soon
Hopefully Tuesday, because tomorrow I’ll be very busy with schoolwork…
Well anyway, see you soon
Chapter 2 / Part 1
Hey guys, I wanted to finish this part yesterday night, but it’s kinda long so I didn’t have time to finish :S But still, it’s my 5th post in 3 day, so that’s still pretty good for me ^_^ Yeah I’m in a blogging mood
Unfortunately, I won’t be able to keep this super-fast blogging rate during week days, so I’m gonna enjoy this free time
NOTE: not much happened during their third day, so this part will have 2 days in it (3rd and 4th) ^_^
So as you can see, Charlie here isn’t exactly in a good mood today. She feels rebellious. I wonder what odd wishes she will get today…
First one she got was to skip school. I really wanted to grant her that, but her grades were already pretty terrible so I made her go anyway.
While the kids went to school…
Jill took care of James and did housework…
Rick started potty-training James. But later on…
He went out in town…
Where are you going, Rick?
Rick: “I am going to help my family… I’ve made my choice…”
That’s right, he got a job!! Congrats, Rick!
I considered doctor, but it wouldn’t have been too realistic for a guy who just lost his job to start being a doctor.
Firefighter seemed like a good idea, until I remembered he was a couch potato -_-;
So yeah, that’s right! I got him a job in the business career! He just started out as a Coffee Courier.
When he came back home, he told everyone and his whole family congratulated him ^_^ It feels like this family is finally going somewhere!
Rick: “Honey, I got a job as a Coffee Courier!”
Jill: “Oh, my gosh, thank God!! You don’t know how much I’ve been worrying these past few days…”
They pulled into a hug.
Charlie: “Dad, that’s great! You’re awesome!”
Same reaction from his daughters
Sophie: “Yay! Daddy has a job again!”
And that night, the Adams slept relieved for the first time in 3 months.
Charlie ended up not doing anything rebellious… I wanted her sneak out at night to prank the school, but by the time Rick told them the news and all, her rebellious phase was over :S
Even little James. He didn’t really know what a job was yet, or why it was so important, but he felt reassured when he had seen how happy and confident his dad had seemed.
Unfortunately the peaceful sleep was interrupted bu James’ crying in the middle of the night. Oh dear…
So Jill had to get up, feed him, and put him back to sleep.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The next morning
Rick’s first day at his new job. He prepared himself quickly to not be late…
Unfortunately, he girls woke up a little late…
And were late for school. The I realized they hadn’t done their homework -_-;
While Jill woke up at 12…
The girls were already coming back from school and had each brought a friend home.
Rick was coming home too. He had a hard day, and was very stressed
Meet Sydney Shawkti, Charlie’s friend. And her exact opposite, too, she’s like the popular cheerleader in school… That much pink hurts my eyes, but that’s my personal opinion
That’s Sophie’s friend, Jeanette Snowden. She looks like a quiet girl.
Charlie and Sydney were already giggling together… probably gossiping around.
Unfortunately for the parents, Sophie is already starting to be less of a goody-two-shoes. She got in trouble for being late at school. An unfortunately for Sophie, her dad was in a bad mood from his stressful day at work, and she got yelled at :S
After his first day working, Rick has earned a little TV time… well, he’s a Couch Potato, what do you expect
The girls did their homework…
Sydney: “Math is garbage”
I feel she’ll get along with Charlie just fine
And were soon joined by Jeanette.
Sydney: “I have to go as soon as we get this done, though. Or else they’ll take away my new phone…”
Sydney hurried out.
And Charlie started playing the piano, out of boredom. She seems to enjoy it. I found a skill for her to build!
Sophie: “Well since I’m new in town… could you show me a bit around if you have time?”
Jeanette: “Sure… What about this weekend?”
Sophie: “That’s great! Thanks.”
Good. Because Sophie never got out in town since they moved in.
And yes!!! James is finally potty-trained!! All thanks to Jill
Jill: “Yup! *Cracks her knuckles* Like a boss!”
Meanwhile, Jeanette had gone home, and Charlie got on the computer to chat with Dennis. They planned a date for this Saturday… Great!!
Thank goodness Rick is a heavy sleeper. Even with the light on, he didn’t wake up when Charlie crept into his room to use the computer.
Sophie did the dishes… She was still grumpy about the fact that she had to do chores to not be grounded…
And soon enough, everyone went to sleep.
